Elliott Morse of Montpelier, a grandson of the late Vermont governor turned U.S. senator, George Aiken, will attend the November 14 birthday celebration to the Northeast Kingdom. The event, which is hosted by Scott and Penny Wheeler, the publishers of Vermont's Northland Journal, and the Goodrich Memorial Library, will take place at the Goodrich. It will begin at 2 p.m.

Elliott is a true character you won't soon forget. His brother, Burr, another Vermont character, also plans to attend.

The late senator is credited with helping spreading the expression - The Northeast Kingdom - to every corner of the country and beyond.
